Soon after his birth in 1958, Bocelli, 51, was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma, which made him partially blind. He then lost his vision completely at the age 12, after he was hit on the head during a game of football.

That same year, Bocelli met Veronica Berti, who would become his manager. The couple welcomed a daughter, Virginia, in 2012. They married in March 2014, in a ceremony in Livorno, Italy. The Italian tenor was 55 years old at the time, and his new bride 30.

He was already suffering from the eye disease congenital glaucoma and then, at the age of 12 he lost his sight completely when he was accidentally hit on the head during a football match and suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Andrea is a tenor singer who has had great popular success and is known for his work with Luciano Pavarotti. Andrea is also known as the Blind talent as he is blind. He is the highest paid tenor and is rated No. 1 spot on People With Money's top 10 highest paid singers in 2014 with a net worth of $40 million.

Bocelli grew up on his family's farm, where they sold farm machinery and made wine in the small village of La Sterza, a frazione of Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy, about 40 km (25 mi) south of Pisa. Bocelli's mother and younger brother Alberto still live in the family home.
